13th annual GTHL Legacy Classic raises over $34,000 in support of GTHL Legacy Fund

The Greater Toronto Hockey League held the 13th annual GTHL Legacy Classic on July 9, raising $34,495.81 in support of the GTHL Legacy Fund.

The tournament was once again hosted by Richmond Hill Golf Club, welcoming a 132 golfers from the hockey community along with many partners who came out to support a great day on the course.

The dedication shown by players, sponsors, and volunteers directly supports the GTHL’s Legacy Fund, which was established in 2011 in an effort to help families in financial need and to assist organizations in funding hockey programs with a focus on child and community development.

“The Legacy Classic golf tournament is the cornerstone event of various fundraising initiatives for the GTHL Legacy Fund. The Legacy Fund has become increasingly more important from when it was first established as part of the GTHL’s 100th anniversary celebration,” said Scott Oakman Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. “Parents and families face more barriers today than ever before. The financial support provided by the Legacy Fund could be the difference in some children being afforded the opportunity to get out on the ice and play.”
