GTHL mourns loss of George Pappas

The Greater Toronto Hockey League community is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of George Pappas on March 31, 2025.

A long-time volunteer within the hockey community, George served as the Treasurer of the Humber Valley Hockey Association and contributed as a member of the GTHL Finance Committee. His dedication, professionalism, and passion for the game left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege to work alongside him.

George’s legacy extends far beyond the rink. He was a friend, mentor, and role model to many, always offering a helping hand without expecting anything in return. His spirit of generosity and genuine care for others exemplify the very best of what community sport is all about.

The GTHL extends its heartfelt condolences to George’s wife Tess, his sons Adam and Andrew, and his entire extended family and community. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched within hockey and beyond.

In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory can be made to the SickKids Foundation.

George’s obituary can be read here.
