The Greater Toronto Hockey League will open the 2026–27 season with a new season theme — Built Together — celebrating the people, communities, and shared experiences that make hockey possible across the Greater Toronto Area.
The GTHL A and AA regular seasons begin Monday, October 5, followed by the start of AAA regular-season play on October 12, while House League and Select programming across the League are also gearing up to drop the puck for the 2026–27 season.
Launching alongside the new season is a video that brings Built Together to life across the League — from House League, Select, A, AA and AAA hockey to the coaches, officials, volunteers, bench staff, families, and development programs that help make the game possible.
To mark the start of the year, the GTHL is launching a new Built Together video featuring the many parts of the League — from House League, Select, A, AA and AAA hockey to coaches, officials, volunteers, bench staff, families, and the development programs that support the game.
At its core, Built Together reflects the strength of one League working together across many communities.
One system. One season. Built together.
The theme reflects the direction of the GTHL Strategic Plan and its four pillars — Trust, Belonging, Achievement, and Growth — bringing those priorities to life through the everyday experiences that shape minor hockey.
Trust is strengthened through relationships, communication, and shared responsibility. Belonging is created when players and families feel connected to their team, their association, and the game. Achievement is found not only in results, but in development, progress, and personal growth, while growth happens when the GTHL and its Member Associations work together to create opportunities for more people to participate, learn, and contribute.
Together, those ideas form the foundation of the 2026–27 season.
One League. Many routes. Connected by the game.
The visual identity for Built Together draws inspiration from the network that connects Toronto and the GTA. Routes, lines, and connection points appear throughout the 2026–27 design system, reflecting the movement of people and communities across the GTHL.
Every line represents a connection, every stop represents a community, and every route reflects a shared journey through hockey. This concept extends well beyond the visual identity.
A GTHL season is built through the collective efforts of thousands of people across the League — players, coaches, officials, volunteers, families, bench staff, Member Associations, and partners.
It is built through early-morning practices, late nights at the rink, player development, officiating and coaching education, community involvement, and the many experiences that extend beyond the final result on the ice.
Built in the GTHL
Throughout the 2026–27 season, Built Together will serve as the foundation for how the League shares its stories and celebrates the people who contribute to the game.
The core identity — Built in the GTHL. Built Together. — will follow the full season, from regular-season competition and player development to coaching, officiating, championships, and community initiatives. The theme will also provide another way to bring the GTHL Strategic Plan to life.
Stories of development and accomplishment will reflect Achievement and Growth, community storytelling will reinforce Belonging, and content focused on coaching, officiating, leadership, and shared responsibility will continue to support Trust.
Community storytelling will also continue to highlight the people and experiences that make hockey Bigger Than the Game, while coaching and officiating content will encourage participants to see the game differently, continue learning, and help make the experience better for all.
GTHL Spotlight
The League’s signature events will be highlighted throughout the season through GTHL Spotlight, including the GTHL Top Prospects Game fuelled by Gatorade, U18 All-Star Festival fuelled by Gatorade, Esso GTHL Puck Drop Weekend, I Play in the G, among others.
Each event, while built for different age groups and skill levels, provides an opportunity to highlight development, competition, community, and the people who contribute to not only the GTHL, but minor hockey as a whole.
A League of Neighbourhoods
The 2026–27 season will also celebrate the communities where GTHL hockey lives through The League of Neighbourhoods.
Across Toronto and the GTA, each association, arena, and neighbourhood contributes its own identity and experience to one connected League.
From welcoming new families through Start Hockey to sharing Member stories, recognizing volunteers and highlighting inclusion and community programming, The League of Neighbourhoods will focus on the local connections that form the foundation of minor hockey.
The initiative also aligns closely with the Strategic Plan’s Belonging and Growth pillars by helping create welcoming entry points to the game, strengthening connections within communities and supporting opportunities for more young people to participate.
As another season begins, thousands of players will take the ice across the GTA, while at the same time, coaches will teach, officials will lead, volunteers will give their time, families will fill arenas, and friendships will take shape.
Another GTHL season will be built — together.
