The Legacy Fund Community Grant has proudly funded over $250,000 toward meaningful programs, events, and initiatives that promote access to and development within the game of hockey.
Being offered for the fourth year in a row, the GTHL Legacy Fund Community Grant is once again available publicly, expanding its outreach and related opportunity.
Applications will be accepted throughout the 2026-27 season, promoting a furthered commitment to providing support toward impactful initiatives.
Applications for the 2026-27 Legacy Fund Community Grant will be accepted from May 15 to July 31, 2026. The grant is open to both internal and external organizations with eligible programs, events, and initiatives that support access, inclusion, and development within the game of hockey.

The Legacy Fund Community Grant is available funding to help break down financial barriers and support impactful community development initiatives.
The grant is an available opportunity for both GTHL Members and non-GTHL Members. Specific criteria may be requested to establish a Legacy Fund Community Profile, to enable financial support.
To ensure that financial support via the Legacy Fund is distributed in an appropriate manner, documentation that details an organizations structure, financial reporting, staff members, and so forth, may be requested where applicable.
Grant-eligible programming, at the foundation of what is required, is any initiative with a goal to directly impact promotion of access into and/or development within hockey, with aligned intention to incorporate themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion. For hockey organizations, programming must be additional to standard operations (i.e. can’t be to off-set player registration, regular season expenses, tournament entry, etc.).
Initiatives must be scheduled to run between October 1, 2026 and September 5, 2027.
The 2026-27 application window will be open as of May 15, 2026 and close on July 31, 2026.
Review of applications will occur throughout August 2026, with decisions communicated in September 2026. For those being awarded funding, that will then follow shortly thereafter.
Maximum grant amount available per application is $25,000. Actual awarded amounts will be determined on a case-by-case basis, per application and the details outlined within.
