Apply: John R. Gardner Special Recognition Award

Established in 2001 by GTHL President John Gardner, the John R. Gardner Special Recognition Award was developed to recognize those players who have displayed inspirational courage in overcoming adversity while maintaining a dedication and commitment to competing in hockey.

The award is presented by the Greater Toronto Hockey League to GTHL players (Competitive, Select, or House League) who have experienced a significant event in their lives and have managed to overcome the adversity and continued playing the game of hockey.

Eligibility: 
Any registered player in the 2025-26 season from the GTHL or Mississauga Hockey League (House League, Select, or Competitive) can apply or be nominated.
