TORONTO, ON – The Greater Toronto Hockey League has officially opened applications for the 2025-26 GTHL Legacy Fund Community Grant, providing local organizations with funding support to grow the game and make hockey more accessible in their communities.
Established in 2011, the GTHL Legacy Fund provides financial support for GTHL families in need and assists organizations in funding hockey programs with a focus on child and community development.
Since 2019, funds have been distributed through granting partners to maximize impact across the hockey community. The Fund’s largest annual fundraiser, the GTHL Legacy Classic golf tournament, brings the GTHL community together each summer in support of this important cause.
“The GTHL Legacy Fund Community Grant is about community,” said Scott Oakman, GTHL Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. “Aligned with our recently adopted Strategic Plan, the Community Grant supports initiatives that break down barriers, increase access, and foster inclusivity. By investing in programs that promote accessibility and opportunity, we’re working to ensure hockey is a game for everyone, both on and off the ice.”
The Legacy Fund Community Grant has proudly funded over $150,000 toward meaningful programs, events, and initiatives that promote access to and development within the game of hockey.
Over the last two years, the GTHL Legacy Fund Community Grant has helped support over 10 programs.
