GTHL raises more than $5,000 for Shine Foundation at Come to Sleigh

For the third consecutive year, the Greater Toronto Hockey League was proud to hit the ice in support of Shine Foundation at Come to Sleigh, raising more than $5,000 to help create brighter futures for young people living with severe physical disabilities across Canada.

Held September 24 at Scotiabank Pond, Come to Sleigh brings participants together through sledge hockey, offering an opportunity to experience the accessible sport while raising funds and awareness in support of Shine Foundation.

GTHL staff once again participated in the tournament, trading their usual roles around the game for a chance to get on the ice and support an important cause.

The League was also represented by GTHL Officials Ashley Crozier and Gordon Nisbet, who volunteered their time to officiate and help support the event.

Through its Shine Dreams program, Shine Foundation supports young people aged 11 to 21 living with severe physical disabilities, helping build confidence and independence while opening the door to new possibilities for their futures. The organization has delivered approximately 9,000 Shine Dreams to young people across Canada since 1987.

Returning to Come to Sleigh for a third year reflects the GTHL’s continued commitment to using hockey to make a positive impact beyond the rink. The League is proud to support an event that celebrates accessibility, inclusion, and community while helping Shine Foundation continue its work with young people across the country.

The GTHL thanks everyone who supported this year’s fundraising efforts, as well as Shine Foundation for once again bringing the hockey community together in support of a meaningful cause.
