TORONTO, ON – The Greater Toronto Hockey League is excited to announce the ninth annual I Play in the G Festival, taking over Scotiabank Pond on January 24-25, 2026. The weekend-long festival will celebrate all the GTHL community has to offer, from various activations throughout the facility, to everything from accessible forms of hockey, and house league, select, ‘A,’ ‘AA,’ and ‘AAA’ games on-ice.
The I Play in the G Festival will feature activity on and off the ice, celebrating players, families, partners, and community groups while ensuring there’s something for everyone at Scotiabank Pond.
On-ice highlights include:
- CDS programming on Rink 2 hosted by North Toronto, running Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., bringing together multiple GTHL CDS teams in head-to-head matchups
- GTHL and North York Hockey League (NYHL) league games running throughout the weekend
- Canadian Blind Hockey returning for another year, running programming Saturday at 11:00 a.m. on Rink 4
- GTHL hosting on-ice coaching clinic sessions throughout the weekend. Click here for more information and to register.
- New this season: Under-15 Pizzaville Showcase and U18 Milk Showcase games for participating house league teams
Families and participants can also enjoy interactive experiences thanks to a variety of partners and community groups on site all weekend long. Including, but not limited to:
- Gitch Sportswear, as the festival’s Apparel Sponsor
- LiveBarn on-site and streaming all the action
- Esso offering a chance to create your own hockey card
- Variety Village to talk all things VOLT Hockey
- As well as a multitude of partners present with engaging activations throughout the weekend
In addition, the GTHL will be holding an Indigenous Equipment Drive in support of Indigenous youth in Ontario for the third straight year. On Saturday, January 24, equipment will be collected between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., followed by 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 25. Individuals looking to donate will find the Indigenous Equipment Drive under the Scotiabank sign in the lobby of Scotiabank Pond. Lastly, a signature highlight of the weekend will be the U18 All-Star Festival fuelled by Gatorade on Saturday, January 24, showcasing three matchups:
- U18 ‘A’ All-Star Game – 10:00 a.m.
- U18 ‘AA’ All-Star Game – 1:00 p.m.
- U18 ‘AAA’ All-Star Game – 4:00 p.m.
