Respect in Sport

The GTHL is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for everyone in our game. Through the Respect in Sport program, we work with parents, players, coaches, and officials to ensure respect is at the heart of every experience on and off the ice.

RESPECT IN SPORT FOR ACTIVITY LEADERS

Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders is a requirement for all GTHL Bench Staff. This three hour interactive and accessible online training program is designed for coaches and sport leaders at every level. It’s purpose is to:

  • Equip youth coaches and leaders with the knowledge to prevent and address bullying, abuse, harassment, and discrimination.
  • Foster a culture of respect and inclusion throughout the sport community.
  • Provide essential tools that help coaches become strong, positive role models for the young athletes they support.

This course is $30.00 plus tax.

RESPECT IN SPORT FOR PARENTS

Respect in Sport for Parents is a requirement for at least one parent or guardian of a player in the GTHL. This program is designed to complement the Activity Leader program by emphasizing the important role parents play in their children’s sports and recreational activities. This one hour course helps parents:

  • Prioritize their child’s safety and overall well-being.
  • Foster respectful and effective communication with coaches and officials.
  • Contribute to a positive and enjoyable environment for everyone involved in sport.

This course is $12.00 plus tax.

RESPECT IN SPORT FOR GAME OFFICIALS

  • Identify and respond to incidents of bullying, abuse, harassment, and discrimination.
  • Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for athletes, coaches, and spectators.
  • Build confidence in managing challenging situations on and off the ice.

This course is $12.00 plus tax.
