U13 A Port Credit Storm Support The Compass Food Bank

The Under-13 ‘A’ Port Credit Storm proved that some of the most meaningful wins happen beyond the scoreboard. For three weeks throughout November, the team partnered with one of their sponsors, KeyGroup, to run a community food drive in support of The Compass, their local food bank.

Framed as the “friendliest and most rewarding win-or-lose competition” they’ve had, the Storm faced off against KeyGroup in a challenge to see who could collect the most donations. Players, families, and supporters rallied together, gathering non-perishable food items and toiletries for individuals and families in need.

On December 6, both sides came together at The Compass for the final drop-off and weigh-in. As the players unloaded bags, boxes, and carts filled with donations, they watched the scale climb — reaching a total of 1,610 pounds donated.

“Their faces filled with excitement and care as they unloaded every item and heard from The Compass staff how thankful they were for this donation!” shared team representative, Lucy Higashi.
