The 2026 U18 All-Star Festival fuelled by Gatorade wrapped up on Saturday, January 24 with the U18 ‘AAA’ All-Star Game closing out the day. In a tight final match-up, Team Red held on to defeat Team Blue 2-1.
Team Red set the tone early, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first period thanks to two goals from Francesco Porporino (Toronto Red Wings). The second period remained scoreless, but the pace didn’t slow — play went end-to-end with plenty of chances at both sides as each team looked to break through.
Team Blue made it interesting in the third, getting on the board just past the midway point when Jatan Sandhar (Vaughan Kings) scored to cut the deficit to one. With the pressure mounting late, Team Red stayed composed and shut the door the rest of the way to secure the 2-1 win and close the festival on top.
Gatorade Players of the Game honours went to Team Red’s Francesco Porporino (Torontno Red Wings) following his two-goal performance, along with Team Red defenceman Jatan Sandhar (Vaughan Kings), who recorded the team’s lone-goal.
