The Ontario Hockey Federation requires all Team Officials, On-Ice Officials, and Third Party Instructors to complete the screening process as part of its commitment to Safe Sport.

Who Needs to Complete Screening?
Returning Individuals (with VSC from 2023 or 2024)
If you were approved by the OHF for the 2024–25 season with a VSC from 2023 or 2024, you only need to complete the online declaration through the submission portal.
- Your declaration from 2024–25 is valid until May 31, 2025.
Returning Individuals (with VSC from 2022)
If your VSC was issued in 2022, it will expire on May 31, 2025. You are required to:
- Submit a new VSC
- This has to be obtained through your local Police Department.
- Complete the online declaration
- Both steps must be done through the OHF submission portal.
New Individuals (First Time Coaching or Officiating)
New coaches, team officials, on-ice officials, and third-party instructors must:
- Register with their Association in the HCR, and
- Obtain a VSC From your Local Police
- Submit a VSC and complete the online declaration via the OHF submission portal.
Receipts & Submission Timing
Coaches & Bench Staff
- Receipts for VSCs will not be accepted between April 1 and July 30, 2025.
- Police checks can take 6–8 weeks, so start early!
- Once your VSC is returned from police services, submit it along with your online declaration.
On-Ice Officials (Referees)
- VSC receipts will be accepted as of May 15, 2025.
- Submit your receipt and complete the online declaration through the OHF portal.
