14th Annual GTHL Legacy Classic Presented by Spordle Raises Over $63,000 in Support of GTHL Legacy Fund

TORONTO, ON – The Greater Toronto Hockey League is proud to announce that the 14th Annual GTHL Legacy Classic presented by Spordle, held on July 22 at Richmond Hill Golf Club, raised a record-breaking $63,213.35 in support of the GTHL Legacy Fund.

Established in 2011, the GTHL Legacy Fund provides financial assistance to GTHL families in need and helps organizations fund hockey programs that prioritize child and community development.

This year’s Legacy Classic once again sold out, with 144 golfers taking part in a day filled with 18 holes of golf. The day also featured breakfast, post-round lunch, on-course contests, a silent auction, and plenty of prizes.

“The continued growth and success of the Legacy Classic demonstrates the passion of our community for making hockey accessible to all,” said Scott Oakman, GTHL Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. “We are incredibly grateful to all participants, sponsors, and donors for their ongoing support of the Legacy Fund.”

Event highlights, all of which contributed to the record-breaking success of the day, included: 

  • Presenting Sponsor: Special thanks to Spordle, the first-ever presenting sponsor of the Legacy Classic, for their tremendous support and on-site presence.
  • Sponsors: A record 22 sponsors contributed financial and event support. 
  • On-Course Activations: A total of 11 activations brought energy and excitement to the day. 
  • Donors: An incredible 53 organizations generously donated 90 items for gifting, prizing, and the silent auction.
  • Silent Auction: The event’s first digital auction saw 148 bids placed, with 39 items won. 
  • Gifting: Thanks to specific sponsor contributions, golfers received enhanced gifting including foursome photos, sunglasses, and more.
