TORONTO, ON — The Greater Toronto Hockey League held its 2026 Annual Meeting on Monday, July 13 at the Richmond Hill Country Club, bringing together League Members to review the past season, discuss organizational priorities, elect the Board of Directors, and review the GTHL’s audited financial statements for the fiscal year.
Following the meeting, the GTHL is pleased to welcome Tanya Witty to its Board of Directors.
Witty is a senior brand, marketing, and partnerships leader with extensive experience connecting brands and communities through sport. She has held leadership positions with Rogers Communications and the Future of Hockey Lab and is the co-founder of Vero MKTG, a strategic marketing and partnerships firm.
Throughout her career, Witty has led major brand, sponsorship, and fan-engagement initiatives connected to the NHL, PWHL, Rogers Hometown Hockey, and other national sport and experiential platforms. Her experience includes overseeing brand strategy, media planning, consumer insights, strategic partnerships, large teams, and significant organizational budgets.
Witty also brings a strong personal connection to hockey. A former captain of the University of Windsor varsity women’s hockey team, she spent several seasons as a GTHL head coach at the ‘AA’ level, and previously worked as an assistant coach with the University of Toronto women’s hockey program.
The GTHL also extends its sincere appreciation to Michael Purdy, who has concluded his time on the GTHL Board.
A Director since 2018, Purdy brought decades of minor hockey experience to the role as a former GTHL parent, longtime coach, Series Chair, and Ontario Hockey Federation Championship Governor.
During his time on the Board, Purdy chaired the Cost Reduction Task Team, helping explore innovative opportunities to make participation in the GTHL more affordable and accessible. He also initiated a pilot exchange program between the GTHL and Whitefish River First Nation.
The Annual Meeting also included the presentation of the GTHL’s audited financial statements for the year ending April 30, 2026.
The independent auditor issued an unmodified opinion, concluding that the statements present fairly, in all material respects, the GTHL’s financial position and operating results in accordance with Canadian accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations.
For the 2025-26 fiscal year, the GTHL reported approximately $12.27 million in revenue and $12.29 million in expenditures, resulting in a deficiency of revenue over expenditures of $21,202.
The complete 2025-26 GTHL Audited Financial Statements are now publicly available on the GTHL website.
