21 former and current GTHL officials attend OHL Officiating Training Camp

Ahead of the 2023-24 season, the Ontario Hockey League hosted its Officiating Training Camp in Kitchener the weekend of August 25. Among a total of 95 participants, 21 former and current Greater Toronto Hockey League officials attended.

The camp consisted of both on-ice sessions and classroom components.

“We’re here to facilitate the best possible game we can, so it’s important for us to be here to show that we are working hard in the offseason,” Brian Birkhoff, second season OHL line official, shared. “You can never be too technically sound so it’s important to get back to those basics and make sure we’re as efficient as possible on the ice.”
