Around the G: February 2024 Preview

The final month of the regular season is here! Check out everything going on around the G before the puck drops on the GTHL Playoffs! 

  • Leaside Select Invitational Tournament (February 1-4) 

The Leaside Flames are back with the 2024 iteration of the Select Invitational! Offering divisions from Under-7 all the way to U18 Select, this tournament will see over 100 teams compete for gold this weekend.

  • Kennedy Challenge (February 1-4) 

Formerly known as the North York Knights Challenge, the North York Knights are back for another year with this tournament! Played out of Canlan York, this tournament offers divisions at U10, U12, U14, U15, U16, U17, and U18 ‘A.’

  • Don Montgomery Memorial Valentines Tournament (February 8-11) 

The annual Don Montgomery Memorial Valentines Tournament returns for another season. This tournament offers House League and Select Divisions at U7-U9 and U11, U12, U13, U15, U16, U17, and U18.

  • GTHL x Mississauga Steelheads Association Night (February 19) 

The GTHL and the OHL’s Mississauga Steelheads have once again teamed up for a GTHL Game Day on Monday, February 19 (Family Day). 

All GTHL clubs and teams can purchase tickets to watch the Steelheads host GTHL alumni Colby Barlow and the Owen Sound Attack at Paramount Fine Foods Centre at a fundraising ticket price of $15.00 per ticket. A portion of every ticket sold will go towards You Can Play. Game time is 2:00pm. 

Teams who sell the most tickets will get the chance to win a practice with the Steelheads’ coaching staff, and the Game Day Experience, including a dressing room tour, fan tunnel, a mini-game, flag program, bench warm-up, and more!

  • Shark Attack (February 23-25) 

Welcome to the Humber Valley Shark Attack! This tournament provides Select teams the opportunity to put their skills to the test. All games are played out of Etobicoke Ice Sports.
