TORONTO, ON – The Greater Toronto Hockey League is thrilled to announce the eighth annual I Play in the G Festival, set to take place at Scotiabank Pond on January 25-26, 2025. The weekend-long festival will celebrate all the GTHL community has to offer, from various activations throughout the facility, to everything from accessible forms of hockey, and house league, select, ‘A,’ ‘AA,’ and ‘AAA’ games on-ice.
The 2025 I Play in the G Festival will be filled with fun and possible prizes thanks to many GTHL partners with can’t-miss activations:
- Put your shot to the test by visiting Gatorade’s Hardest Shot competition in front of Rink 1, on your way in or out of the Penalty Box restaurant.
- Stop by Esso’s digital fuelling game to test your hand-eye coordination for some great prizes.
- Check out the latest drop from Gitch Sportswear – browsing their customizable gear to test or do some shopping.
- Drop by LiveBarn’s booth for some giveaways as they show you what’s new with their streaming service.
- Plan your next pre-game meal with the experts from Yorkshire Valley Farms.
- Don’t miss the GTHL tent, challenging the hockey hands of participants for a chance to win more prizes.
The community will also be felt at the festival, with activations from:
- Canadian Blind Hockey
- VOLT Hockey
- Canadian Cancer Society
In addition, the GTHL will be holding an Indigenous Equipment Drive in support of Indigenous youth in Ontario for the second straight year. On Saturday, January 25, equipment will be collected between 9:00am and 3:00pm. Individuals looking to donate will find the Indigenous Equipment Drive under the Scotiabank sign in the lobby of Scotiabank Pond. On the ice, a variety of ages and skill levels will feel the spotlight of the I Play in the G Festival, including:
- CDP takeover on Rink 2 led by the Humber Valley Sharks on Saturday
- North York Hockey League (NYHL) league games taking place on both days
- Mississauga Hockey League (MHL) games taking place on Sunday
- The MHL and NYHL will feature two crossover exhibition games on Saturday
- ‘A’: Under-11, U12, U14, U15 and U16
- ‘AA’: U10, U14, and U15
- ‘AAA’: U10 to U16
In addition to Canadian Blind Hockey taking to the ice on Saturday at 1:00pm on Rink 4, and Para Ice Hockey on Sunday at 9:00am on Rink 1.
