Establishing healthy eating habits at home is a key component in improving your on-ice performance. Feeding your body with the fuel needed for every shift will help you seamlessly transition back to the ice when the time comes. Every Tuesday, nutritionist Seanna Thomas will be bringing you recipes and nutrition tips via the GTHL Instagram that will help to build healthy routines. For August 18, Seanna will be making chocolate hemp butter. You will need:
Ingredients:
2 cups of hemp hearts
1/4 of avocado/coconut oil
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp maple syrup
Pinch of sea salt
Instructions:
In a food processor, add hemp hearts and oil. Let it run until creamy and smooth (about 3-5 minutes)
Scoop out into a bowl and cocoa powder, maple syrup, and salt. Stir together.
Taste! Add more cocoa powder or syrup if needed.
Place in sealed container or jar in the fridge.
Will stay good for up to two weeks.
