On December 14, the Greater Toronto Hockey League proudly announced the return of the King Clancy Cup for the 2024-25 season — marking its first appearance on the GTHL calendar since the 2018-19 campaign.
As excitement builds for the tournament’s comeback, the GTHL is pleased to open registration for eligible teams. Non-playoff ‘A’ teams from the GTHL and the Mississauga Hockey League (MHL), in addition to non-playoff ‘AA’ and ‘AAA’ teams from the GTHL, are invited to compete. The tournament is open to any Hockey Canada sanctioned, Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF), or teams from the United States that meet the eligibility criteria. Other teams may participate with the necessary approval from tournament officials.
The schedule for the tournament will be a rolling release. This will mirror that of the GTHL’s League schedule release. Under-10 to U12 divisions can begin as early as March 10, and U13 to U16 divisions can begin as early as February 24. Games will be played during March Break (March 10 to March. 14). GTHL rinks that are used for the League’s regular season will be where tournament games are held.
U10 to U12 teams are able to pre-register. If registered teams move from the preliminary round to the first round of the GTHL Playoffs presented by GSW, the GTHL will refund their entry fee. Additionally, U13 to U16 teams that remain in contention for the GTHL Playoffs are able to pre-register. If these teams make the playoffs, the GTHL will refund their entry fee.
Teams eliminated in the first round of the GTHL Playoffs are not eligible to participate.
