GTHL Announces 2026-27 Player Registration Fee (PRF)

The Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) announced today the Player Registration Fee (PRF) for the 2026-27 season.

For the 2026-27 season, the PRF for competitive (‘A,’ ‘AA,’ and ‘AAA’) players will be $980, representing a three per cent increase from the 2024-25 season, when the fee was last adjusted. Spread over two years, this is equivalent to an annual increase of approximately 1.5 per cent per year, or $30 in total.

This change is necessary to help address inflationary pressures and rising operational costs while continuing to support the programs and services delivered across the League.

The Player Registration Fee helps fund the essential costs associated with operating competitive hockey across the GTHL. As outlined in the accompanying fee allocation chart, the largest portion of the PRF supports ice costs (88 per cent), followed by salaries and administration (five per cent), rink attendant and officiating costs (four per cent), awards, trophies and championships (two per cent), and convenor and other League costs (one per cent). Together, these areas reflect the core facility requirements, operations, and staffing required to deliver a high-quality hockey experience for players and families across the League.

The GTHL recognizes the commitment and support of hockey families and remains focused on maintaining accessibility and affordability as a priority for all participants.

The following payment options will be available for the PRF:

Payment may be made by credit card in the amount of $980, plus a 2.9% credit card processing fee charged directly by SportsPay.

An instalment plan option will also be available at a total of $1,030, which includes a $50 administrative fee, plus a 2.9% credit card processing fee, where applicable.

Participants may also choose to pay by cheque at the base fee of $980.

Player Registration for the 2026-27 season is now open.
