TORONTO, ON – The Greater Toronto Hockey League and KidSport Ontario are proud to announce the continuation of their partnership for the 2025-26 season. Entering its second year, the collaboration will continue to assist young athletes in GTHL house league and competitive (‘AAA,’ ‘AA,’ ‘A’) programs by helping to remove financial barriers for new and returning players.
The partnership includes a financial contribution from the GTHL to KidSport Ontario to be allocated to individual hockey grant applications. KidSport Ontario and its local chapters benefiting from this collaboration will administer the funds to approved applicants who meet KidSport requirements.
“The GTHL is proud to continue its partnership with KidSport Ontario,” said Scott Oakman, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the GTHL. “Ensuring that kids have the opportunity to play hockey, regardless of financial barriers, is one of the GTHL’s top priorities. Through this important initiative and KidSport’s support, we are able to directly assist families while growing access to the game.”
Individual grants from KidSport Ontario of $300 are matched through the GTHL’s contribution, awarding $600 per child per year.
As part of the continued partnership, KidSport Ontario will also continue to be involved in key GTHL events, including the Annual Meeting of Members, GTHL Legacy Classic, and the I Play in the G Festival.
