GTHL Opens Applications for 2026-27 Legacy Fund Community Grant

TORONTO, ON — The Greater Toronto Hockey League has officially opened applications for the 2026-27 GTHL Legacy Fund Community Grant, providing local organizations with funding support to grow the game and make hockey more accessible in their communities.

Established in 2011, the GTHL Legacy Fund provides financial support for GTHL families in need and assists organizations in funding hockey programs with a focus on child and community development. Since 2019, funds have been distributed through granting partners to maximize impact across the hockey community.

The Fund’s largest annual fundraiser, the GTHL Legacy Classic golf tournament, brings the GTHL community together each summer in support of this important cause.

“The GTHL Legacy Fund Community Grant is about continuing to build and develop our community,” said Scott Oakman, GTHL Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. “Aligned with our Strategic Plan, the Community Grant supports initiatives that break down barriers, increase access, and foster inclusivity. By investing in programs that promote accessibility and opportunity, we’re working to ensure hockey is a game for everyone, both on and off the ice.”

The Legacy Fund Community Grant has proudly awarded nearly $250,000 toward meaningful programs and events that promote access to and development within the game of hockey. Over the last three seasons, the GTHL Legacy Fund Community Grant has providing funding for 18 initiatives.
