GTHL Welcomes Alice Bell to Board of Directors at Annual Meeting of Members

TORONTO, ON — On July 14, the Greater Toronto Hockey League held its Annual Meeting of Members, concluding with the acclamation of the GTHL Board of Directors.

The GTHL and its Members welcome newly acclaimed Director Alice Bell to the Board, beginning a three-year term alongside Ken Smith, Brian Webster, and Don West who all return for three-year terms. Don Bamford, Cyril Bollers, Darren Lowe, and Grant Worden return for a one-year term.

Fellow GTHL Directors, Kevin Eshkawkogan, Christine Miles, Michael Purdy, Karl Subban, Kathie Wood, and Phil Wolfenden continue their existing terms with the Board.

The GTHL and its Members extend their gratitude to outgoing Director, Prema Thiele, for her dedication and significant contributions to the GTHL and the game of hockey.

At the General Meeting, GTHL Members considered certain motions made by the GTHL Board of Directors to amend regulations for the purpose of strengthening governance and financial transparency and controls at the Club and Team levels, as provided by the GTHL’s Integrity Action Plan. The Members voted to table such motions to allow for further review and consultation with stakeholders pertaining to the specific terms of such regulations. These matters remain under active consideration and will be brought forward at a subsequent Members’ meeting following such consultations.

During the GTHL Board Meeting on July 28, Don West was elected as President and Chair of the Board for the 2025-26 season. Additionally, John Trimble was appointed as Secretary Treasurer for the same period.
