61 GTHL Alumni Featured on 2025-26 AHL Opening Night Rosters

The 2025-26 American Hockey League (AHL) season got underway on Friday, October 10 with a total of 61 Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) alumni featured on opening night rosters.

Of the AHL’s 32 teams, a total of 28 included at least one former GTHL player. Five teams included a minimum of four former GTHL players. 

The Hershey Bears and Texas Stars led the way, each with five GTHL alumni.  

Eleven of the GTHL’s 12 ‘AAA’ associations are represented on AHL rosters. The Toronto Marlboros lead the pack with 18 alumni, followed by the Toronto Jr. Canadiens with 10. The Vaughan Kings are next with five alumni, while the Mississauga Rebels, Toronto Titans, Toronto Red Wings, Toronto Young Nationals, and Don Mills Flyers all have four. The Mississauga Senators and Markham Majors are each represented by three alumni, and the Reps Hockey Club has one former player rostered.
