RIMOUSKI, QC – The London Knights claimed their third Memorial Cup title on June 1, with a decisive 4-1 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers. Seven Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) alumni helped push the Knights to victory.

The Knights dominated the regular season, finishing first in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with a 55-11-2 record. Former Toronto Marlboro Sam Dickinson led the team in the regular season with 91 points in 55 games, with Denver Barkey (Toronto Titans) and Sam O’Reilly (Vaughan Kings) finishing second and third in team scoring.
The Knights continued to roll in the OHL Playoffs, winning 16 of 17 games en route to their second consecutive J. Ross Robertson Cup as OHL Champions. Dickinson finished second among OHL defencemen in post-season points, tallying 31 points in just 17 playoff games.
Looking to avenge their 2024 Memorial Cup Final loss to the Saginaw Spirit, the Knights opened their 2025 tournament with a 3-2 victory over the Moncton Wildcats. O’Reilly scored two goals, including the game winner.
Taking on the tournament host Rimouski Oceanic in game two, the Knights held on for a 3-1 victory. O’Reilly and Barkey picked up assists on Easton Cowan’s empty net insurance goal.
With a trip to the final on the line, the Knights fell short in their final round robin game, losing 3-1 to the Medicine Hat Tigers. Dickinson and Barkey both picked up assists in the loss.
The Knights got another opportunity to earn a spot in the final, taking on the Wildcats in the semi final. Dickinson picked up an assist on the game winning goal, with Barkey and O’Reilly also posting assists in the 5-2 victory. The win set up a rematch with the Tigers for the Memorial Cup.
Dickinson continued his strong tournament with three assists in the final, including combining with O’Reilly to set up Cowan for the game winning goal. Barkey added a pair of goals to help secure the 4-1 victory and earn the Knights the Memorial Cup.
Barkey finished the tournament tied for the lead in scoring, putting up three goals and four assists for seven points. Dickinson led all defencemen in tournament scoring, with six point – all assists.
